Capping System

Capping system for concrete cover slots on sheet piles.

Overhead formwork for sale

Foundiz offers an innovative capping system for constructing concrete cover slots on sheet piles and other retaining structures. This system was developed to ensure efficient, safe, and controlled concrete work on construction sites, both at heights and along waterways.

The system is suitable for applications such as sheet piles, composite walls, and secant piles. Foundiz assists in selecting and implementing the right solution, tailored to the project and its execution.

Product Range & Applications

The Dawson Construction Plant (DCP) capping beam system is a modular system specifically designed for constructing concrete cover trenches.

This wall shoring system is used for various types of retaining structures, such as steel sheet piles, composite walls, and pile walls.

The system’s design makes it possible to quickly and precisely create a cover joint on sheet piles, ensuring a consistent quality in the final result.

System Architecture

The system consists of a combination of steel supports and so-called soffit panels.

The supports are attached to the sheet pile wall. This is done using a threaded spindle with hard tips on both ends, which is inserted into the flanges of the steel sheet piles.

For heavier loads, the supports can be placed in steel mounting brackets that hook into the joists. After installing the supports—in many cases, two per panel—the soffit panels can be installed as a work platform and bottom formwork.

These panels consist of steel platforms with aligned aluminum bars, which can be easily slid into the formwork of the sheet pile wall or composite wall.

After positioning and adjusting the system, the vertical formwork can be installed, for example, using traditional formwork or system formwork.

The system is designed to be user-friendly and enables efficient implementation.

Assembly and Efficiency

The capping system is designed for quick and convenient assembly on the construction site. The components are easy to attach and adjust, allowing for efficient work under various conditions.

Dismantling after the concrete has been poured and cured is also quick and easy, which contributes to efficient project execution.

When combined with the right system configuration, a high production rate can be achieved (of approximately 15 linear meters per day).

Working Safely and Under Supervision

The system was developed with a focus on safety and control during implementation.

Thanks to its stable construction and integrated work platform, it is possible to work safely at heights and in situations near water. In addition, the modular design ensures a controlled and reproducible work process.

Customization and Variants

The capping system is available in various configurations, ranging from light-duty to heavy-duty, depending on the loads and project requirements.

For each project, an analysis is conducted that examines, among other things, the loads on the concrete and the structure. Based on this analysis, a suitable system is proposed, often accompanied by a schematic drawing.

This determines the correct configuration for safe and efficient operation.

Delivery and Support

Foundiz provides the capping system for both sale and rental.

In addition to delivering the system, Foundiz provides support for its preparation and implementation within the project. Drawing on practical experience and technical expertise, Foundiz works with clients to determine the most efficient way to use the system.
